Anna Flanigan Obituary
Anna Bernice Flanigan entered eternal peace on Jan. 2, 2021. Born in Ferndale on Jan. 28, 1924 to Mary (O'Callaghan) & Charles Haffey, she met her love, William (Bill) Flanigan, at a St. Benedict's high school dance. They were married on Nov. 25, 1944.
She is survived by her children: Thomas (Holly), Daniel (Michalene), Doreen (Gary), Maureen (Wilson), Phyllis (Michael), Jeanne (Ken), Elaine (James), MaryAnne (William), Elizabeth, Kathleen (Gary) & Nancy (Ray).
She was a loving grandmother to 20 grandchildren: Sarah (John), Deanna (Mark), Andrea (Ira), Anthony (Julie), Kiera (Michael), Daniel (Jesi), Megan (Jason), Patrick (Hannah), Adam (Melania), Kathryn, Steven, Patrick, William (Ashley), Christopher (Mandy), Shane, Michael (Teresa), Timothy, Thomas (Andrea), Brian (Kathryn) & Jillian. She is further survived by 14 great-grandchildren, sister Bernadette Walsh, sister-in-law Theresa Haffey & many nieces and nephews.
She is reunited in eternal life with her husband Bill, son Brian, daughter Anne & great-grandson Leland.
Anna B. was charming, selfless & stubborn. She laughed with tight lips, bouncing shoulders & a friendly eye roll if the joke was good enough. She was an avid member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, volunteering for Meals on Wheels until she was no longer physically able. She dedicated her life to raising a kind, capable family & cared about making the world a better place. Her passion for life will live on in those who love and miss her deeply.
Private family Mass was held. Memorial donations may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice.

This was just sent to me. I will never forget how your Mother handled things so beautifully with your Dad in and out of the hospital, and so calm with such a large family. She was a great lady. Sorry for your loss. I’m sure you will miss her dearly. It was so nice and such a surprise to see her at Leo’s a few years back. (Info: there wasn’t a proper category to check under Relationship)

Sincere condolences to the Flanigan family from the Geisinger family. Our families lived in the same Detroit neighborhood for several years and the children attended St. Alphonsus school together. My mother May spoke of Anna fondly throughout her lifetime, recalling their visits where they enjoyed updating one another on the activities of their large families. God bless all of you.
