Anna "Oma" Sessler, 90, of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and wife of the late Oscar Sessler, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013. Anna was born in Harthausen, Germany on July 28, 1922 to the late Josef and Maria Schwenold (nee Mauz). She was the true matriarch of the family. Her purpose in life was her family, including her children and grandchildren whom she adored. She always remained very active in their lives. Her ability to cook and bring everyone together made for great memories of always making sure everyone had something to eat. Her faith was always very important to her. She often lit a candle as she prayed for her loved ones. She also was very outgoing and made friends easily. It did not take her long when in a new place for all to know Anna Sessler. Her sharp wit, intelligence and kindness shined brightly, affecting all those who met her. In 1979, she and her beloved husband, Oscar, moved to Lighthouse Point, Florida where she lived until after Oscar passed away. She remained in Lighthouse Point until 2006 when she moved to Michigan for her care. Anna is survived by two children, Karl Sessler (Patricia) and Elisabeth Rumpel (Manfred). She is the proud grandmother of Karl, Jr. "K.J" Sessler (Lori), Diana Nadeau (Scott), Shirley Bennett (Brian), Jennifer Sessler, Steven Rumpel and the late Joey Sessler. Devoted great-grandmother of Samantha Diaz, Cassie Sessler, Holden Nadeau, Patrick James "P.J." Sessler, Rayna Nadeau and Cayla Bennett. Anna was also the dear sister of Oskar Schwenhold (Sofie) and the late Regina Weiss (the late Josef), Louise Karo (the late Gustaf), Markus Schwenhold (Anna), and Maria Gauggel (the late Xavier). A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 11:00am in the chapel of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer 1800 W. Maple Road, Birmingham, MI 48009. Visitation begins at the church at 10:30am. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Anna's memory.
