STEINBERG, Anna
Peacefully, after a seventeen-year battle fought with courage, on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the age of fifty-six. Wife of the late Giddy Umbrasas. Dear and loving mother of Ashley and Danielle. Daughter of Lillian and the late Robert Steinberg. Dearest sister and sister-in-law of Miriam, Maxx and Rona, Murray and Sheryl, Charles, Lorna, Howard, Rubin and Josée. A very special aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Anna will be forever remembered by Debbie Spivak, Erika and Stevie Shipper, her family and many dear friends, and by all who had the good fortune of knowing her. Special thanks to Doctors W. Miller, D. Melnychuk, M. Palumbo, B.H. Trinh, P. Cholette, and the nurses and staff of the Jewish General Hospital for their ongoing dedication and support. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, August 19, at 2:00 p.m. Burial at the Beit Abraham Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Anna's memory may be made to the West Island Palliative Care Residence Foundation, (514) 693-1718, or to the "Anna Steinberg Memorial Fund" c/o the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251.

I want to offer my deepest condolences to the whole family and specially to Ashley and Danielle. As you alreay know, I have had the pleasure of working with your mom for a number of years. She was amazing. A lot of spunk and quite the personality. She was fantastic. She is finally at peace, without any more pain. I will definitely miss her and our many conversations.

Dear Ashley and Danielle,
What an amazing fight your mum put up...never wanting the attention that her cancer brought. What wonderful memories we have of conventioning and holidaying with both your mum and dad (in the UK, USA, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Greece, Copenhagen, Australia, Dubai and more)...always hearing about you two with such pride.
