NEWPORT
- Annabelle L. Stephens, 86, of Newport, entered into eternal life on April 24, 2011, with her family at her side. Annabelle was born on July 22, 1924 in Liverpool. She was the daughter of Herman and Ida (Hettinger) Long. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Wayne, and her sister, Evelyn Shumaker Holman.
Annabelle is survived by her son, Gordon Stephens and wife, Kate; daughter, Stephania Crouse and husband, Terry, all of Newport; and daughter, Nancy Cahoon and husband, Greg of Shelton, Ct.; grandchildren, Todd and Megan Stephens, Matthew and Timothy Crouse and Chad Cahoon.
Annabelle was a graduate of Liverpool High School and a charter member of The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Annabelle was a telephone exchange operator, a Howe Township tax collector for many years, and secretary at H.R. Wentzels and Son, Newport.
She and her husband Wayne were the owners and operators of Waybelle Farms and proud of their Century Farm distinction.
She was a member of the former Towpath Court Order of Amaranth #138, the Honey Bee Red Hat Society, and a life member of the Newport Fire Co. Ladies Auxillary. She was involved with her husband in many agricultural and farming organizations.
Family and friends are invited to services on Wednesday at The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Liverpool with a viewing from  9-11 AM and funeral service at 11 AM. Burial will follow in the Newport Cemetery.
Annabelle was a loving and devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be missed by all those who loved her.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Annabelle's honor to The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1000 North Front Street, P.O. Box G, Liverpool, PA 17045.

Annabelle has always been a very special person to us. We lived in Newport many years ago but have remained in contact with her. We were planning to visit next month and are so very saddened by her loss. Our sincerest sympathies to Gordon, Stephanie, Nancy, and their families. Our thoughts are with you all.
