Annette Gall Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 28, 2013.
Annette Rashid Gall, 64, of Charleston WV, left us on September 28, 2013. Annette is a child of God and her Light will shine on us always. She was born on February 2, 1949 to Mosa and Mitchell Rashid who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her beloved nephew and niece. Annie was survived by her husband of 43 years, Francis Christian Gall Jr. Their story is one of uncommonly strong bonds and devotion and, when she passed away, she was still in love. She was also survived by her son Francis Christian Gall III and daughter Megan Annette Gall PhD. Her children had the profound privilege of being with her when she passed. Her grandson Christian Dean Gall, was born to Beth Johnson and Chris four years ago and he brought 'Doc' endless joy. Annie's siblings, LeNore and James Hendricks, LeRoy and Claudette Rashid, Diana Salamie, and Richard C. and Eleanor Rashid survived her as did her in-laws Marylyn and James Wilburn. She was survived by 11 nieces and nephews and 17 great nieces and nephews. Part of Annette's genius was her ability to build relationships and link people through time and space. She was beloved by our family elders, our babies and all the friends who enriched her life for so many years. Annette was a lifelong learner. She earned a scholarship sponsored Master Degree in Nutrition in 1973 and an EdD in Education in 2004 at the age of 55. She also taught herself about medicinal plants, painting, flower cultivation, carpentry and fine cooking. Throughout the years, Annie dedicated time to Manna Meal and eased the passage of others through her work with Hospice. Visitation is at the Basilica of the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart on Tuesday October 1, 2013 and immediately followed by service, officiated by Monsignor Sadie at the same location. Mercy dinner will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations at Kanawha HospiceCare (hospicecarewv.org) would make Annette very happy. Please come and help us celebrate her life.
