Annie Ruth Lawrence Brantley went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 29, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. She was 82.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Karl Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held from 6-8 Friday evening at the funeral home. At other times the family will be gathered at 901 Dogwood Trail, Dothan.

Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 2740 Headland Ave., Dothan, AL, 36303.

Mrs. Brantley was born January 8, 1932 in Greenville, AL to the late William Gafford and Nettie Mae Lawrence. She was a resident of Dothan for over 50 years. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Mrs. Brantley was a member of Westgate Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Conrad Honree Brantley, three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include two daughters, Audrey Spooner of Dothan and Maylene Creel of Midland City; two sons, Stanley E. Brantley (Bonnie) of Slocomb and Maxwell Brantley (Mary) of Cottonwood; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Loretta Whittle of McKenzie, AL and Bessie Mae Smith of Georgiana, AL; and several nieces and nephews.

Her two sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice and her caregivers, Keli Allen and Patricia Johnson.

Aunt Ruth, I Love you and will miss your laughter and beautiful face. My childhood memories are fond ones of visiting you and Uncle Honaree with Audrann, Maylene, Stanley and Mac. My Favorite Aunt of all my Moma's Sisters. Love you and will see you when God calls me home
