I first met Annie in Singapore, at Sotheby's. She was a student of mine, and we became friends. Whenever I would come into Singapore to teach, we would get together. I still remember going to a club she belonged to, drinking long drinks while looking out over the landscape, and just talking.

Annie was incredibly kind, creative, joyful and truly generous as a human being. Her curiosity about people, and life, was a joy to behold!

She invited me to the Philippines, but we could never find a time to make it work. I am torn asunder by the news of her death, and will treasure and honor being able to have known her for the time that I did. I shall miss her -

May you encounter colors and magic on this next part of your journey, dear Annie.

I'll always remember Car Chen as full of spirits, nothing seems to faze her full of life that have touched a lot of people's lives including mine. I will forever treasure the time we spent in grade school where Car taught me how to draw roses. Still have those drawings after all these years. Rest in peace my dear friend. My sincerest condolences to the Fussner and Chen families.

My sister's positive strong spirit was admirable. She expressed her pain & tribulation through her art & carried it with courage & dignity. Only memories of our happy childhood together can ease my sadness of not seeing her ever again. I will always miss you.

God placed you in my life for just a season. He knew I needed your kind of friendship at that exact time. You were the most elegant of women and you would light up every room you entered. May God be with your family during this most difficult time. Rest in peace my friend.

I fee much sadness for the loss of you, dear Car, and at the same time, joy, for you will be going Home to your Father. I thank God for the gift of you, that vivacious, bubbly, strong woman that you were to all of us; for the gift of your hands that drew and painted and crafted what you felt in your heart. Yes, you ran after all the dreams in your heart, and a lot of us were in awewell, I was. I shall miss you even if we haven't seen each other for a long time. Rest in God's eternal peace, my dear friend. Till we meet again ♥
