Hitchcock, Annie Louise (Boyd)

Annie Louise Hitchcock, 92, born and raised in Austin, Texas, and a long-time resident of Hempstead, Texas, passed away August 31, 2022 at Park Manor in Bee Cave, Texas.

Annie was raised in the Hyde Park area of Austin where she attended Austin High School and was a proud member of the Austin High Red Jackets. She faithfully attended her high school reunions for many years. It was at AHS where she met her husband, Kenneth "Jack" Hitchcock, after his return to high school from World War II. They married, had two children, and raised their family in Austin and then in the Beaumont area where he was transferred by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. They then retired to Hempstead, Texas at their lakefront property, and enjoyed spending time with their grandkids on holidays and summers. After Jack passed in 2000, Annie came back to her roots of Austin, Texas. Even into her nineties, she spent many nights with friends singing and dancing at local karaoke bars (and even handed out CDs of her recordings), was well-known to show off her dance moves to family, and led bible studies in her senior community.

Annie touched many lives with her boundless warmth, love, generosity and ability to evoke smiles and laughter wherever she went. She had a heart of gold and was always quick to help others any way she could.

Annie is survived by her son, Kenneth L. Hitchcock and wife Terry, and daughter, Janice Hitchcock; her grandchildren, Susan Gorishek and husband Frank; Angela Cox and husband Mark; Marshall Dustin Paulk and wife Liting; her great grandchildren Emma Gorishek, Austin Doucet, Erin Gorishek, Kenedi Doucet and Saylor Doucet.
