AnnMarie Esposito Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 10, 2022.
AnnMarie Esposito, of Ocala, Florida, passed away at home on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 after her battle with cancer. She is predeceased by her parents, Anthony & Otilda Esposito of Queens, NY; her sister, Barbara Granice of Long Island; and her beloved Carlton "Michael" Day who passed away unexpectedly just 26 days earlier. She is survived by her children, Jo-Ann Villa and her husband, Clement Villa and their children, Maegan and Ryan; Jacqueline LaPlatney and her children, James Jeffrey, Heather Jeffrey, Elyssa LaPlatney, and Hannah LaPlatney; her son Anthony Miranda and his wife Ellen; and her stepdaughter who held a special place in her heart, Kasey Day; her brother-in-law, Santo Granice, her sisters, Camille Esposito & Elaine Brush, Chickie and Tom Walsh, and Jeanette Czarnecki; along with many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

If you walked into her home you would be sure to hear the theme to Law & Order: SVU or any multitude of crime show dramas. She loved sitting by the pool drinking her frozen drinks, the beach and salt water, vacationing in the Caribbean, and playing for riches at the casino. Her favorite place in the world was the dream home that she shared with her beloved Michael of which they were so proud. In their younger days they loved riding on the motorcycle and as the years went by, rocking on the front porch and watching the sprinklers became their favorite pastime. Anyone who knew her would say unequivocally that she was the most open-minded and open-hearted person in the world as she was always willing to listen and never judge. Her work ethic and sacrifices allowed her children to grow into adults that she was extremely proud of; and her children, in turn, would declare that she was, in fact, the "coolest mom ever". She will be missed and a small celebration of life will be held in her honor at a later date for her immediate family. In place of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Hospice of Marion County West Team, P.O. Box 4680, Ocala, Florida 34478 as they were wonderful to her in her last days and a great comfort to her family.

It was truly an honor to know Anne Marie even though it was a short time. The laughter we all shared was good for my soul. Have missed seeing you, but will treasure my memories of the times we had together around the table.

I had a very special bond with my beautiful Aunt Annmarie since I was young and had the fortune to be able to spend a lot of time with her and my uncle Mike when they moved to Florida. We all had fun playing Wizard and Sequins, spending holidays together, dinners out and going to the pool.
I will cherish these memories forever.
I love you dearly Aunt Annmarie. You are no longer suffering. You will always be a part of me.
My thoughts and prayers are with my cousins and entire family
