So sorry to hear of the passing of Tony Bruno, I was fortunate he was in my life. Dr. Bruno watched over the Bethesda neighborhood as the Kellys, Timmons, Viscounts, Heise's, Drings, Beckers, Philbins, Castros, Garagusis, Brunos and so many other good families enjoyed each other's company at play, parties and sporting events. RIP Dr Bruno you were an accomplished and good man and raised a wonderful family.

May it comfort you to know that he is no longer suffering, no longer in pain. May he rest peacefully in God's memory.

Louise,
I stopped by Anthony's room not long before his passing; he was asleep and I sensed it would not be long. As a volunteer at Heartland for several years, I have come to realize, it is easier for me if I never stop caring for someone, rather than trying to 'care' at arm's length. It hurts more, but the relief I feel knowing Anthony is not suffering brings me some peace, and I really don't fear death. We talked about several of our professional achievements, so I knew such a small part of his totality. Yet, both of us were consummate technical people who committed fully for decades, to make a difference in the world. We started by finding common ground in our personal philosophies, and trying to find context where God and science fit together. We found a place of understanding in our heads; then, the last couple months, we were just friends who shared time together, and cared for one another. I listened a lot and with just a few exceptions felt his words and his heart. I would like to have known him longer, and you, but it was not to be. The staff who were around all the time, frequently mentioned how much you loved him. May God bless you and your family and the journey you are beginning together.
