Anthony "Tony" Soprano Jr.

Anthony "Tony" Soprano Jr., a resident of Charenton for the past 70 years, passed away at his home at the age of 74 in the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 14, 2017. Tony formerly worked for St. Mary Parish and then the St. Mary Parish School Board until going to work for the Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana in 1990 and retiring in 2005. Some of his favorite pastimes included working in his yard, cutting grass, fishing, and spoiling his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his wife of 39 years, Ardith Burgess Soprano; two daughters, Carlie Soprano Chaumont and her husband Joshua and Lacey Soprano Fonseca and her husband Fernando; three grandchildren, Avari, Rya, and Noah Michel, all of the Chitimacha Reservation; six step grandchildren; two brothers, Michael Soprano and his wife Mamie of the Chitimacha Reservation and Robert Soprano and his wife Camelia of Franklin; and two nieces, Kimberly Walden and her husband Kurt and Kaylyn Leger and her husband Shane and their children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Soprano Sr. and Ruth Jewel Darden Soprano; as well as by his maternal and paternal grandparents and one great niece and one great nephew. A graveside service and inurnment will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Chitimacha Mausoleum, with Rev.
