Anthony "Tony" Telep


Anthony Telep entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 9, 2006 at his home in Susquehanna Township after a short illness.
He was born August 16, 1934 in Jermyn, PA, and was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Anna Telep and his father, Samuel Telep. He was the loving husband of Mary "Duffy" Telep. They would have been married 49 years on October 5, 2006.
Tony was a graduate from the University of Scranton. He was retired and had previously worked for Ohio Casualty Insurance Co. and the Insurance Company of North America.
Since his retirement, he enjoyed traveling around the world with his wife and spending time with his family. Tony also drove limousine for Henderson Limousine Co. He was a memory expert and professional speaker. He had previously served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of St. Margaret Mary's Church in Penbrook for the past 46 years.
He was the beloved father of 9 children and 10 grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Mary Duffy Telep; his brother, Gene Telep (wife, Lois); 2 daughters, Kathy Doherty, wife of Robert of Pittsburgh, Melissa Payne, wife of David of East Pennsboro; 7 sons, David Telep (wife, Mary Jo), Kevin Telep, Brian Telep (wife, Peggy), Bruce Telep (wife, Caroline), Brad Telep (wife, Kim), John Telep, Joseph Telep; 10 grandchildren, Ian Doherty, Sarah Telep, Ashley Telep, Anthony Telep, Kaylyn Hoover, Jonathan Kerns, Samuel Telep, Amanda Telep, Dezi Telep, Nathan Payne, and Drew Payne.
A viewing will be held Tuesday evening, April 11, 2006 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry Street, Harrisburg. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary's Church, 2848 Herr Street, Harrisburg. He will be buried in Scranton at a later date.
It is requested in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to St. Margaret Mary's Church, or PinnacleHealth Hospice, 3705 Elmwood Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
The family expressed deepest gratitude to PinnacleHealth Hospice for their incredible kindness and patience.
Words alone cannot describe how much we loved this man - husband, father, grandpa, and friend.

Tony was a dear sweet loving man...a delight to all who knew him. Our world was a better place because he was here.

So sorry to hear about Tony. Tony was a loyal and lasting friend that I will miss terribly. Our sympathy to Tony's family in this loss. I will truly miss those regular calls from Tony to just talk for a while. Rest in peace Tony!!
