Anthony "Tony" Joseph Ciulla

Springfield-Anthony J. Ciulla, 74, husband of Maryann Ciulla, died Saturday, August 6, 2016, at his home, with his family. He had been battling cancer for several years. He was born January 31, 1942, in Newton, New Jersey. He was predeceased by his parents, Althea and Frank Ciulla and two brothers, Thomas and Robert Ciulla. He grew up on his grandparents' farm in northern New Jersey. He owned an excavating company, a modular home business and a hobby business, of which he thoroughly enjoyed. He made a lot of horse drawn novelty wagons, which he used with his teams of draft horses, giving rides and entertaining people. In 1996, he decided to relocate to Maine. Here is where he discovered he had talent for singing and song writing. He had received many awards for his song writing talent. Many of you remember him from the local music jams. He enjoyed singing for you and entertaining you. He loved every minute of it and greatly missed being able to participate this past year due to his health. He is survived by his wife Maryann of whom they just celebrated 55 years of marriage; two sons, Michael Ciulla and Francine, Joseph Ciulla and Renne, and one daughter, Patricia Dodge; seven grandchildren, Steven Ciulla, Courtney Ciulla and Curtis, Nicole Ciulla and Anthony, Danielle Dodge and Eric, Victoria Dodge and Sean, Vincent Ciulla and AnnMarie Ciulla; six great-grandchildren, Audrianna, Eliana and James Carraher and Kristian, Brantley and Cole Masterbone, and another that we will all get to meet in February. He loved his family and was very happy that in the past two weeks he was able to spend time with each of them and say his goodbye. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to a couple of very, very special friends for all they have done to help him through this difficult time (you know who you are).
