Anthony (Tony) R. McKoy 6/14/1953 - 11/29/2023

On November 29, 2023, Anthony (Tony) R. McKoy of Myrtle Beach, SC passed away at age seventy. Tony was born June 14, 1953 in Cullman, AL, as the oldest of three sons. Tony attended Cardinal Newman in Columbia, SC, where he excelled in football and baseball. As a life-long musician and music lover, he enjoyed playing the guitar and drums and listening to his favorite band, The Rolling Stones. He was a member of the first graduating class at Spring Valley High School in Columbia, SC. A very long career in the hospitality business followed, with him managing many hotel properties throughout the Southeastern United States.

Tony is preceded in death by his loving parents, Bobby R. McKoy and Margaret Crow McKoy.

Tony is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kathy D. McKoy; his children, Chelsea McKoy Boyle (Alan) and Robert Gene McKoy; and his infant twin granddaughters, Eloise Grace Boyle and Olivia Rose Boyle. Tony is also survived by two brothers, Robert Marc McKoy (Terry) and Christopher Thomas McKoy (Michelle), as well as two nieces, Madison McKoy and Brittney McKoy. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins that he dearly loved.

In Tony's final days, he was able to meet his beautiful twin granddaughters, 2 months old at the time of his death, who had spent their first four weeks of life in the Memorial Medical NICU in Savannah, GA.

All those who were blessed enough to know him, love him, or just hear the strum of his guitar on the porch during a summer evening, will cherish every memory, and feel his loss deeply and truly.
