Obituary

Anton ""Tony' Zidon, 79, of Pisek, ND died Monday, August 22, 2005 at his home near Pisek. Anton ""Tony' A. Zidon was born May 25, 1926, on a farm near Pisek, North Dakota, the son of Anton and Martha (Schanilec) Zidon. He was reared and educated there attending Prairie Centre Township School learning English in the first grade. He served in the U. S. Army from April 18, 1946 until September 30, 1947. He attended the Hanson Auto Mechanic School in Fargo, ND and the Dunnwoody Institute in Minneapolis, MN. On October 7, 1952 he was united in marriage to Jane Wysoski at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Grafton. They made their home on a farm near Pisek where he farmed until retiring in 1990. He is survived by his wife, Jane; children: Robert Zidon, Grafton, ND, Geralyn (Kerry) O'Connor , Washington, Allen (Joy) Zidon, Pisek, ND, Dennis Zidon, Grand Forks, ND, Catherine (Larry) Schmidt, Lino Lakes, MN, Janet (Todd) Ramlet, Tomah, WI, Ann Zidon, Hendrum, MN, and David (Chrystal) Zidon, Murray, UT; fifteen grandchilren, sisters: Ann Osowski of Minto, ND and Marie Wilson of Montrose, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Stephen and Herman; sisters: Martha and Edith; two infant children; granddaughter Becky Zidon; and an infant grandson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Thursday, August 25, 2005 at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Veseleyville with burial in St. Luke's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Barnes Family Funeral Service, Henriksen-Kamrowski Chapel on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary and Vigil Service and one hour prior to services in the church.
