It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the loss of Araceli Steele, born on August 18, 1974, and departed from this world on July 22, 2025. Araceli was a beacon of light and love for all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
Araceli is survived by her cherished husband, Al Steele, and her children, Eliza, Josie and her husband Alejandro San Milan Velez who were the apple of her eye. Her heart swelled with love for them.
She is also survived by an extensive family who adored her vibrant spirit. Her brothers, Rafael Bustillos Jr, Hugo Bustillos, and Pablo Bustillos along with their wives, Rosario Bustillos, Amber Davila Bustillos, and Crystal Bustillos. Her sisters, Alba Bustillos, Olga Bustillos, Elva Velasquez, Elizabeth Muñoz, Ruth Gonzales, Alfa Dismukes and their husbands, Ray Quiñones, Carlos Velasquez, Armando Muñoz, Richard Gonzales, and Nicholas Dismukes.
She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Rafael Bustillos Peña and Maria Pabla Bustillos, her beloved son Isaac Gonzales, who she carried in the inner mansion of her heart throughout her life, and her brother Omar Bustillos who also went to be with the Lord on July 8, 2025.
Araceli was an active and devoted attendee at Oak Hills Community Church. She held a deep love for the Bible and expressed her devotion through singing Christian songs. One of her proudest accomplishments was her passion for aiding unfortunate children which led her to donate and contribute significantly in charities geared towards their benefit.
Araceli had a personality that was as dynamic as it was heartfelt. She was bubbly, warm, witty, and loving. Her sense of humor was unparalleled and always gifted laughter with her unique and expressive comedic shenanigans which will forever dwell in our memories. Most importantly and above all, she was a devout Christian who loved endlessly and gave without expectations. She lived for and served our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all her heart, soul, and mind. Growing up, it was always a fun past time playing video games with her which she enjoyed and still held a personal collection of her favorite Super Nintendo games. Her love for Christian music is known to all who knew her as she honored us with her splendorous angelic voice whenever she performed either at her church or family events. With her sunlight- piercing eyes and radiant smile, she projected love without bounds through song, and brought out the best in all of us with her magnetic, gentle, and loving spirit. One of her greatest hopes and dreams was for all her nephews and nieces to be saved and receive the holy Spirit. She actually envisioned her son Isaac deep within her nephews' and nieces' being, who himself was a pulchritudinous soul. She planted many seeds to flourish like benevolent flowers towards their sublime sunlight, Jesus Christ.
Araceli was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, aunt, wife, and friend. As a mother, she instilled all that is good about mankind in the hearts of her children with Christian values and morals. As a daughter, she honored the traditions and values instilled by her parents and projected those into the lives of her children like a fine tuning fork. As a sister, she was a fountain of laughter, understanding, and unwavering strength. As an aunt, she was a guiding compass of spiritual love towards Jesus' goodness and warmth which she instilled. As a wife, she was the fabric that held the tapestry of her family together. As a friend, she was second to none. It was in her nature to be a nurturing soul, assisting her elderly friends/ sisters and brothers in Christ with their daily struggles and challenges. Her presence, companionship, and assistance was enough to bring joy and felicity into their lives.
Her legacy of unconditional love will continue to inspire and impact all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her teachings of love and selflessness will live on in the hearts of her loved ones. Araceli's influence and impact were vast, and she will always be remembered for her warm beauteous heart, kind spirit, and devout faith.
As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the life she lived and the love she shared. Araceli Steele's inimitable presence in this world was a blessing and her memory will forever be cherished.
A homecoming church service will be held Tuesday July 29 at Oak Hills Community Church in Floresville in remembrance and celebration of her extraordinary life and a family gathering on July 30 in remembrance of her.
