Ariel Moore Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 17, 2025.
Ariel Milynn Moore (Boehnlein) of Indianapolis, formerly of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away the morning of Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the age of 34, surrounded by her devoted husband, loving parents and younger brothers at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis after battling cancer. Ariel was a loving wife, mother of three, and dedicated servant of Jesus.

In 2009, Ariel graduated with honors from Bloomington High School North, where she was active in the school's choir, newspaper, yearbook and National Honors Society. After high school, Ariel attended Indiana University in Bloomington. She soon met and fell in love with future husband Raynor, John Raynor Moore IV, while working together at Target in Bloomington. The two married on Halloween in 2012 with their loved ones around them in costume. Soon after, Ariel and Raynor would start their family together, welcoming a daughter in 2013.

A natural-born caretaker, Ariel mothered with joy and love. After welcoming their second child, and first boy, the family moved to Indianapolis, where Ariel became a full-time mother. In 2018, the birth of their second son completed the family.

In 2023, when their youngest enrolled in pre-school, Ariel became Hawthorne Elementary's Media Secretary. The work of a librarian was well-suited for Ariel, always a voracious reader and prolific writer of journal entries and fan fiction growing up.

At Hawthorne, Ariel (Mrs. Moore) took great pride in setting up book displays to keep the kids interested in reading, running the school's news updates with the kids, organizing the yearly scholastic book fair, and working with the school's special education students, several of whom formed great bonds with her. Ariel also began learning Haitian Creole and refreshing her Spanish to better communicate with students and their parents at the school. To do so made Ariel very happy, and underscored how she never stopped learning in life.

In March 2025, Ariel was hospitalized with fluid in her lungs, and after a difficult stay in the hospital, on her 34th birthday, Ariel was diagnosed with Stage IV Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma (EHE), a very rare and aggressive form of vascular cancer. This along with a worsening of her chronic mastocytosis-which had become cancerous as well-caused Ariel immeasurable daily pain.

Despite immense pain, Ariel never lost her fun-loving spirit. She also never stopped being a fierce mother, comforting her children often and demanding other adults treat them fairly and with respect.

On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones, Ariel went to be with the Lord, and her suffering was finally over.

Ariel is survived by her everloving husband John Raynor Moore IV, Raynor, their three beloved children, her parents Karen and Joseph Boehnlein, brothers Michael and Logan Boehnlein, aunt and uncle Christine and Don Fitzpatrick, and cousins Sarah, Ryan and Stephanie Fitzpatrick. Ariel inspired love in all her relationships and will be missed by many close friends and extended family members near and far.

A Celebration of Life in her honor will be at Sherwood Oaks Christian Church in Bloomington, Indiana, date is to be announced.
