Arthur Lansdell Armitage Arthur L Armitage died at home on March 5, 2023. A native New Yorker, born March 24, 1932, Arthur was the son of Frances Auchincloss (Mulgrew) and Thomas W. Armitage. He graduated from Buckley School, Groton School and Yale University . Arthur married Meredyth Rubidge and joined the Bank of New York. They raised 3 children: David L. Armitage (Denver w Kerry Stutzman), Meredyth S. Armitage (Salt Lake City h Scott Rossbrough) and Thomas (Toby) A. Armitage (Highlands, NJ Meriel Meehan). Arthur had 8 Grandchildren, 3 sisters, nieces and nephews He was a Partner of White Weld and later of Ward Howell International. He divorced in the early 80s and married Catherine Seyler (Lucht), his second wife, in 1984. They moved to Sarasota, FL in 2006.

Arthur spent his life serving not-for profit organizations. In Florida, he was a Trustee at Mote Marine Laboratory and Acquarium, for over 15 years, where he was elected Chair Emeritus. His personality lent itself to strong personal relationships which resulted in strong personal relationships and solving tough problems with humor and tact.

Arthur is succeeded by his wife, children, grandchildren , sisters, nieces and nephews. The family will hold a private service. Donations in Arthur's honor may be sent to Mote Marine Laboratory and Acquarium 1600 Ken Thompson Parkway, Sarasota, FL
