Arthur Richert passed to his Heavenly home on December 22, 2014. Arthur was born in Nebraska and arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1942 to engage in military training at the US Army Air Corp base on the outskirts of town. That base is now known as Nellis Air Force Base. During training he was joined by his fiancée Lillian and they were married at the City Hall. At the completion of training Arthur was sent to the European Theater to serve until the end of the war. After release from military service, Arthur decided that Las Vegas was a prime area for future growth and he and his wife settled in the city to raise a family and establish a future together. They joined First Good Shepherd Lutheran Church as some of its earliest members. Arthur worked at various retail establishments before beginning co-ownership in two home furnishings retail stores and remained active in their operation until retirement. Arthur and Lillian have always been very active in their church and were early supporters of Faith Lutheran High School. Arthur is survived by his wife of 72 years, Lillian; children, Terry (Arlene) Richert, Gary (Sarah) Richert, Linda Trimble, Jon (Susie) Richert and Alan Richert. Together Arthur & Lillian have seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.
Viewing is being held at Palm Mortuary, at 1325 North Main Street, 3:00pm-7:00pm Monday, December 29th. Services are scheduled for First Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, at 301 South Maryland Parkway, at 11:00am Tuesday, December 30th. Family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Arthur Richert Memorial at First Good Shepherd Lutheran Church would be appreciated.

Beloved family I feel for your loss. I too lost a family member and know the pain it causes. I pray for your peace of mind during this most difficult time. Losing those we love is a heartbreaking experience, but God cares and through his word he comforts us. "He hears your prayers and sees your tears." (2 Kings 20:5 NWT) JW - Angela Flores
