Arthur Wright

ELDORADO, Ohio - Arthur "Pete" Wright, age 93, of Eldorado, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio.

He was born Sept. 6, 1917, in Jefferson Township, Preble County, Ohio, to the late Chester and Lida (Wynkoop) Wright.

Arthur was a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II where he was stationed in Germany, France and Belgium and was the recipient of two Bronze Stars; he was a lifelong farmer and resident of Preble County, Ohio; he also worked for Steinke Tractor, Herb Newman Contracting and Geeding Auto Dealership of West Manchester, Ohio; and he dearly loved woodworking and gardening.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lois Elizabeth Wright, who passed away Oct. 9, 2010; grandson, Kevin D. Wright; and sister, Laura Alice Woolf.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Duane E. and Nancy L. Wright of Centerville, Ohio; daughter, Marilyn Wright of West Manchester, OH; grandson Kyle Matthew (fiance? Jessica) Wright of Holiday, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Wares Chapel Cemetery, 1060 Foos Road, West Manchester, Ohio, with Pastor Stan Van Ausdal officiating. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2011, at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 W. Main St., Eaton, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice, One Elizabeth Place, NW Building, 5th Floor, Dayton, OH 45408; or North Central Ambulance District, P.O. Box 156, West Manchester, OH 45382.
