Ashley Oliver Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 17, 2024.
It's with overwhelming grief and broken hearts that we share that our beloved daughter Ashley Marie Oliver, affectionately known as Ash or Shelly, passed away on August 7, 2024, in Chesapeake, Virginia, at the age of 35. Born on December 23, 1988, in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, to Teresa Weber and the late Bradley.

As a child, her love of the beach and amusement parks with her family and friends was the highlight of her day. Like any girl, she had dreams and aspirations, but God had different plans, and her life might have some bumps in the road and plenty of ups and downs, but her will to overcome and live her life the best she could was what made her happy. Ashley's life, though short, was and is priceless in the eyes of those she touched. She showed us, in a shorter amount of time, more than what many take decades to teach us.

Some of her happiest moments are when she and her sister Victoria were officially adopted, the birth of her little brother, and how she made a blended family work.

Ashley dedicated her professional life to serving others as a bartender at KrossRoads Bar and Grill and other numerous establishments. Her warm smile and friendly demeanor made her a favorite among patrons and colleagues alike.

As Ashley didn't have children of her own, she treated her friends children like her own and had a special bond with her nephew Christian; they were two peas in a pod, and her newest nephew Jeremiah, whom she didn't get a chance to meet and know, but she would've been spoiling and corrupting him just as much.

In her personal time, Ashley was passionate about DIY projects. She had a creative spirit and enjoyed bringing her unique ideas to life, often sharing these projects with friends and family, and was constantly decorating her house or other people's homes, seeing her with her phone on YouTube and tools saying, "Don't worry, I can fix that."

Ashley is survived by a loving family, including her father, Eric Oliver; mother, Teresa Oliver; sister, Victoria Crosswhite; brother-in-law, Christopher Crosswhite; brother, Eric (EJ) Oliver Jr.; maternal grandfather, Edgar Weber; and paternal grandparents, Ross and Rose Oliver. Paternal grandparents William and Linda Clement. Her Aunt Michelle and Uncle Daniel Stillwell, her Aunt Leslie and Uncle George Mahler, and her Aunt Marice Oliver, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Shirley Weber, and aunt, Tracy Weber.

She touched many lives with her kind heart and infectious laughter. The pain at her absence will never subside, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
While we know that is now at peace and fully healed in Jesus arms, we still ache for our sweet Ashley.
Our time with her was but a glimpse, yet her enduring love filled our days with light and purpose. Though now out of sight, her loving spirit is not gone; it lives in our hearts and memories.

Celebration of life will be at a later date.
