Audrey Robertson Self, 90, of Salem, VA, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 17, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Self; parents, Thomas and Beaulah Robertson; sisters, Dolores Rife and Mary Moores; brother, Ralph Hicks; sons in law, James Chaney and Richard Paugh.
Surviving to cherish her memory: daughters, Jennifer Chaney (David Thurston) and Joanne Paugh (Dorland Payne); grandchildren, Jeffrey Chaney and Janet Chaney (Jamie Lucas); great grandchildren, Jayden and Lexie Hart.
She was retired from the Veterans Administration Regional Office.
She loved and was devoted to her family and to her church of which she was a charter member. She appreciated the love and care that she received from those close to her.
The family would like to express thanks to Dr. Bonnie Culkin for years of care and most recently to the staff of Snyder Nursing Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church at 845 Hemlock Road, Salem, VA 24153.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Calvary United Methodist Church, Salem with Rev. Jason Bryant and Rev. Emory Tarpley officiating.
Burial will follow in Fair View Cemetery, Roanoke.
Visitation will be held at Oakey’s South Chapel from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, September 19, 2018.
