Dr. Bruno Jr. and Family,
I extend my sincere condolences to every one of you. You delivered two of my three boys. I no longer live in New York and was very sad to hear about the passing of your father. I hope comfort finds you and your loved ones in your time of need.

Dr. Bruno Jr. and Family: I am so sorry to hear of your father's death. When I was pregnant with my second, a co-worker asked me who my OB was. When I said "Dr. Bruno", she told me about the delivery of her daughter during the blizzard of '77/'78 and that "Dr. Bruno" was also her doctor. I told her that there was no way that "my Dr. Bruno" was "her Dr. Bruno". She had Sr., I had Jr. She spoke with such respect for him. I'm sure there are many more stories like that (and many, many babies, who are now moms or dads). The on-line memorial is just lovely. With sympathy ~ The Frederiksen Family of Buffalo (Debbie, Charlie, and our babies --Evelyn, Jacob and Baby George)

Dr. Bruno and Family,
I wish to express my sincere condolences. I deeply regret not being able to pay my respects in person.
It was an honor to work with Dr. Bruno Sr. for many years. I will hold the fondest memory of him, in that I had the great privilege of working closely with him during his last delivery at Mercy, before retiring.
Dr. Bruno was well respected by all. He was so proud of Dr. Bruno Jr. and his accomplishments,(he taught you well, and its a pleasure working and learning from you) as well as all his children.
May your faith help you through this time.

Dear Claire and the Bruno Family,
We extend our heartfelt sympathy to all of you. We unfortunately never had the opportunity to meet Dr. Bruno. It is obvious from the preceeding letters that he was greatly respected as a physician and loved by many for his compassion and understanding. Know that our prayers and thoughts continue to be with you as you grieve his passing.

Dear Augie,
Went you your funeral today - it was very beautiful. You have such a beautiful family, of whom I know you were very proud. You would have been proud again today. Everyone talked about your kindness, generosity, medical ability, and great intelligence - but especially, your love of family and friends. You were a great friend to me and I miss you very much. I will always remember the fun we shared, the long talks, and Lovejoy. I will never forget your laugh!! I know you're at peace now, and right now you'd tell me not to cry, but I guess I'm crying for me, as I wish you were still here. Thanks for being such a part of my life. I know I'll see you again some day. Until then, rest well. Goodnight, Doc.
Love, Nancy

My heart felt sympathy to the Bruno family. Having travelled from 5th grade thru 8th grade at School #6 ,in "Augusto's" class, I think all of his classmates knew , that his would be , 'a name to remember'. He set the standard , even at that early age. I met Augusto, only once since grammer school and he was leading the way as he perfected his medical skills. I am sure that Our Savior has welcomed him home. May you , the family members find comfort in the fact that he shall remain in the memories of the many that he helped. William (Bill) McCullough

To the Bruno Family:
I am so sorry for your loss. Dr. Bruno was one in a million. He delivered all of my beautiful seven daughters. He was our family doctor before he specialized. He would come to our house and help when my younger sister went into convulsions. He helped me through some hard times. When I had an etopic pregnancy on New Year's Day in 1985, he pushed the cart all the way to the operating room telling me not to worry. When I had my twin girls in 1989, I remember the nurses saying after the first one was born, maybe the second one was a boy. Dr. Bruno said, "No they are identical." After the delivery he took my husband out for a cup of coffee. He was one terrific doctor that never will be replaced in my eyes. He was patient and caring and would return your calls immediately. It was a pleasure knowing him for most of my life. Sincerely, Susan Leli

Dear Bruno Family,
Dr. Bruno was my favorite Doctor,He delivered all of our children, which of all were boys..The last one was 15 years ago, still remember when he delivered him he started humming the theme song from"My Three Sons"..He knew how badly I wanted it to be a girl and so he broke the news in a humerous way, that I will always remember...Take care ,all my prayers always...

I met Dr. Bruno, Sr. twelve years ago and worked for him until his retirement. I saw, first hand, and many times over, how his patients loved him. He was a kind and compassionate physician that cared about women and their babies. He would never turn a patient away because they could not pay or because they did not have medical insurance. He actually had a very special place in his heart for women in crisis and women who found themselves pregnant, with no money, or without anyone to help them with their pregnancy. This was apparent through the many years that he ran the Mercy Ob/Gyn Center with his trusted colleague Maureen Fecio, R.N.
I worked for him long enough to see the daughters and granddaughters of his older patients come into his practice. Women would not trust anyone but him to care for their loved ones. This was the best tribute of all, one of trust and loyalty.
His medical specialty took much time away from his family throughout their lives; however his time away was time well spent, caring for so many people. So many babies came into this world safely under his care and because he cared. As for his own family, Dr. Bruno Sr. loved them more than anything and always wanted nothing but the best for them. I will never forget how unbelieveably thrilled he was when his own first grandchild came along and all of the others to follow. It was not always easy to tell when he was thrilled, but believe me, he was thrilled.
His was a life well spent in caring for others, for women and their babies; a life he greatly enjoyed and a life very worthwhile. Doctors like him are rare, very rare. He will be missed by many.
Sincerely,
Tona Nichols

Dear Dr. Bruno and Family:
My deepest condolences to you and your family. Your Dad was my mother and mother-in-law's physician of which they highly recommended to me. Your Dad delivered all three of my children with the latest being on February 28, 1980. When I was in labor it was leap year and getting close to midnight - your Dad induced me and said "You don't want a leap year baby" and at 11:57, my son, 25 years ago, was born. He was a wonderful/patient/sensitive doctor of which you follow. He taught you well and I will always remember him as the best doctor I ever had. I was so sad when he retired but he did leave his patients in good hands, Dr. Bruno, Jr.
With deepest sympathy,
Debbie & Jerry Burke

Dear Family of Dr. Bruno,
I was so so sorry to hear about the passing of Dr. Bruno. He delivered me 50 years ago and my son 27 years ago. He was a great doctor and has been hard for me to replace. He took time to help me get through some very tough times in my life. He was a great listner. If it wasn't for him my husband and I would of never had our son! There will never be another doctor like him for me. He will be truley missed! In his early days I can remember him coming to our house on holidays to make sure we were alright. My Mom never would go to another doctor but him. When she became very ill it was him who got her to go to the hospital. He was a great man.
God Bless you all,
Nancy A. Grant

My deepest sympathies to the family of a truly good man and great doctor. His tender care of my mother, his house calls to my sister after Dr. Messina retired (he saved her life as a child); his care of my dad who recently died at 92 ... What a good doctor but he was a great man first. God bless

Dr. Bruno and Family,
Sorry to hear about your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you. "Sr." was my doctor before he retired and referred me to you. He delivered my first child. I remember him coming into the birthing room with a bagel in his hand telling me my child had to wait, he wasn't done with breakfast yet. :-) He was a wonderful man and doctor. I also remember seeing him in your office one day after he retired and I asked him if he was coming back to work, and he told me you wouldn't let him. (joking of course, he did that well) I will miss him. May he rest in peace.
