Bailey Fulton, 83, of Arcola, IL formerly of West Frankfort, IL passed away at 12:04 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday February 10, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, 220 East Main Street in Arcola, IL. Rev. Paul Etherton and Rev. Jess Adams will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main in Arcola, IL. Masonic Rites conducted by the Arcola Masonic Lodge 366 A.F. and A.M. will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the funeral home following the visitation, the public is invited to attend. Bailey was born on January 18, 1931 in West Frankfort, IL. He was a son of Alexander J. and Pearl (Criley) Fulton. He married Audrey Masterson on February 8, 1953 at his parent's home in West Frankfort, IL. She passed away on November 12, 1985. He later married Joyce Pulliam on April 7, 1990 in Arcola, IL.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Fulton of Arcola, IL; two sons, Greg Fulton and his wife Jean of Arcola, IL and Brian Fulton of Monticello, IL; one daughter, Barbara Dimmock and her husband David of Methuen, MA.; one step-son, David Mitchell and his wife Marsha of Newbern, TN; three step-daughters, Cindy Mitchell of Effingham, IL, Lisa Johnson and her husband Mark of Kell, IL and Jodi Childress and her husband George of Salem IL; three grandchildren, Bailey W. and Maggie Fulton of Arcola, IL and Alexander Dimmock of Methuen, MA; six step-grandchildren, JoBeth Crompton and her husband Kyle of Salem, IL, Josh Johnson of Kell, IL, Kegan and Griffin Snodsmith of Salem, IL and Whitney and Bradley Whiteside of Waterloo, IL; two step-great grandchildren, Jared and Jacob Crompton and 2 sisters, Patty Garcia of Centralia, IL and Avanell Aloffo of Carterville, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, a brother, Alex J. Fulton, a half-brother, Samuel Fulton and half-sister Liberty Robertson.

Bailey served in the National Guard in1952 with the 744th ordinance maintenance company.

He moved to Arcola in August of 1956 to start work as a maintenance mechanic for USI/Quantum Chemical in Tuscola. He retired in 1995.

He was an avid gardener and grew one of the largest gardens in town.

Bailey was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Arcola and served as Moderator for many years. He was a Christian father, husband and grandfather and we loved him very much. He was a fine example of how a man should love and take care of his family. Bailey was a member of Arcola Masonic Lodge, 366 A.F. and A.M.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Arcola, IL.
