Barbara Ann Blech, 83, of St. Augustine, Florida (formerly of Port Charlotte, Florida) passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 14, 2023. She is At Peace In God's Embrace.

Barbara was born February 29, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of William and Olga Hinz.

Barbara graduated from Cleveland Lutheran High School in 1958. Professionally, she worked as an elementary school teacher and hospital admission clerk. She was passionate about life and loved her family, friends, arts and crafts, gardening, jewelry making, reading, traveling and her beloved dog, Pumpkin. Always cheerful, "Aunt Barb" as she was affectionately known by so many, welcomed everyone with a great smile and warm hug.

Barbara was predeceased in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Jim, her parents, William and Olga Hinz, her two sisters, Ruth Boyle (Robert) and Dorothy Mohr (William) and her step-son Charles Blech.

She is survived by her sister, Grace Zielske (Richard) of Naples, Florida, her sister-in-law, Charlene Webb (Jim) of Phoenix, Arizona, her son, Jim Blech (Sherry) of St. Augustine, Florida, her step-daughter, Christine Blech (Jim) of Chardon, Ohio, her two grandchildren, Morgan Blech and Nathan Blech and her four step-grandchildren, Tiffany Gephart Smetana (Justin), Adam Gephart, Alexandra Blech and Alyssa Blech. Her nieces Sandy Thoburn and Bonnie Smith also held an important place in her heart.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Community Hospice Bailey Family Center for Caring in St Augustine, Florida.

A loving, kind and generous soul. Always willing to share her love, her sense of humor, smile and laughter as
well as tears, her home and talents, a
good football game and a church service. That was my Aunt Barb who was dearly loved and is greatly missed.
Taken to heaven too soon but now at rest.
