Barbara J Bretoi

Barbara Bretoi passed away on June 21st, 2025 at the age of 83. She was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Lewis and Rosalind Grafsky, graduating from South St. Paul High School in 1960. She then married Gene Bretoi, her high school sweetheart and together, they raised two boys. Barbara will be remembered for her kindness and love of family, as a devoted mother and grandmother, and lover of animals and art. She was dedicated to her faith and made a positive impact on many lives, from her own children to countless children she worked with as an elementary school teacher's aide for many years.

She was involved in the local art scenes in both Grand Haven, MI and Sarasota, FL, including attending classes at Ringling School of Art. Barbara realized her dream (starting in her early teens) to own a Corvette convertible and was an active member of the Skyway Corvette Club.

Barbara is survived by her two sons, Jeff and Matt, daughter-in-law Tracy, granddaughters Christina and Elena, brother Pat, and sister Cindy. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Doug and Dave.

Services and a celebration of life for her family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025 at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Sarasota, 2050 Oak St., Sarasota, FL 34237.
