This evening I was on Facebook, of which I try not to participate because of privacy! I decided to look for Barbara and was sadden when I realized she had passed. Barbara was a great manager with the phone company, she was there for me on several occasions. I will always remember her little giggle, She spoke of family often. My sympathy goes out to family.

It took a minute for me to decide what to write. Barbara was my very first manager at SBC. I came in 1981. she was so kind and sweet to me. I was rebellious. She would call me her daughter Connie. LOL. She would use my whole name Georgia Fay, as though she was my mom. She protected me. She made me feel as though I had worth when another manager said I couldn't do the job. She said yes you can. She is the reason I was employed for 33 years. Barbara was good people. I will always remember her. She would sit at that console and do the work if we were shorthanded. she would bring in soup and cook when it iced. She always dressed up for Halloween. Always. And did she love her kids. We knew every name, all C's. So I say job well done Ms Barbara.....Rest
