Sitting here five years later reminiscing. I miss you dearly. I hope your family was able to find peace even though the grief will remain forever. I know youre guiding them through all the obstacles life may face. May you rest in eternal peace.

It's been more than year since she has passed.What a great science teacher. She always made the projects fun and I actually liked going to science. I still miss her. R.I.P. And please don't take down this page PLEASE :(

Mrs. Esselborn was a great science teacher. I know it's almost half a year since she's been gone, but I will never forget her. One of the nicest teachers I knew. No one could talk about science like her. Rest in peace.

Barbara Esselborn was my science teacher for only some of fourth grade so... Yeah and us at 53 miss her and will always love her

Barbara was such a kind and caring person. Her ability to teach her children and students with guidance and direction was always an inspiration to me. I will never forget her. RIP my friend, I hope to see you again one day.

Though her smile is gone forever, and her hand we can not touch, still we have so many memories of the one we love so much. Her memory is in our keepsake , with which we will never part, god has her in his keeping, we have her in our hearts - wake card

Mrs Esselbornwas a wonderful science teacher! I have had her for almost 2 years when my mom told me she died my heart was broken...I will miss her forever, no one on earth can ever fill her shoes...R.I.P

Mrs. Esselborn was one of the best teachers I ever had, knowing her as a teacher in ps 53, she was so nice to her students. She always wanted everybody to have as much of a good time as possible, from her former student, Eri Dumesh, R.IP.

Mrs.Esselborn was the best teacher anyone could have. When i found out about her in the hospital i prayed for her i even told a priest to pray for her he prayed for her 2 times. When i found out she died i was so sad.I cant even imagine how her famly feels. R.I.P Mrs.Esselborn

I did not know Barbara or her family. I am a very distant cousin to Robert. My prayers are with this family and that God will lead them gently through this difficult time.

I do not know the lady, but my heart aches, having read about her on SI live.

Mrs.Esselborn was a great teacher. I had her for second grade and almost through the whole fifth grade. She was truly special. One memory I won't forget is that we shared a birthday. Both Mrs.Esselborn and I were born on December 3. In chemistry on the same day, we had cupcakes and candy to celebrate. I miss her so much and I hope that she knows we all miss her. She was one of my most favorite teachers. I feel so sad the little kids of P.S.53 didn't get to meet her . They would love her as the rest of us did . Rest in peace Mrs.Esselborn.??????????

I remember what a wonderful and gifted teacher and how she loved to share her love of science with her students. May she find eternal peace with the lord. My god grant her family heaing.

I had the privilege of working with Barbara at P.S.18. She was a sweet person and a great teacher. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

We will always remember Mrs. Esselborn with the utmost respect. My daughter, Olivia, always wanted to take her after-school programs! So glad we got a chance to call her teacher! Our prayers go out to her family, and the staff of PS 53.

Rest in peace Barbie ?? though I never got to meet you you were still a big part of my family, a while ago I had the chance to meet your loving parents and I am truly sorry for their loss and especially the loss for your husband and boys. I wished I got a chance to meet a you, you seemed like an outstanding woman

Barbara, I know the time here was short but the impact you made on everyone you have met along the way, from students to co workers from parents to all was tremendous. I am fortunate to have had the honor of knowing you. R.I.P and to your soul on the way to Heaven Godspeed..

We are sorry for your loss to the Esselborn Family. Mrs. Esselborn was a wonderful person. She had a special place in my sons heart at PS 53. He would talk about her with a glow in his face and he couldn't wait until the next day he would have science with her. (she had a heart of gold) May she be with you always in your hearts and special angel always guide you and your children.

I, too, observed Ms. E while working on my Master's. She was amazing. I'm deeply saddened her passing.

Thank you God for blessing me with the opportunity of knowing such a beautiful person!!! She may be gone physically but I know you she will guide her boys and her husband thru this life to be everything she dreamed they would be. As for us...you will be forever in our hearts xoxo

I am going for my Masters in Education and I observed in Mrs. Esselborn's science classes. She was very welcoming and sweet.I am blessed to have met her. A beautiful lady.

We are so very sorry for the loss of your beautiful wife and mother,my older son had Mrs. Esselborn for 4th and 5th grade and loved her , now my younger son had her in 3rd grade for only 3 months he always told me what a nice teacher she was, whenever I would see her in the morning parking her car always with a smile on her face.
