Barbara Gates Obituary
age 82, of Canton, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, May 22, 2014. Born in Canton April 9, 1932 to the late Enos and Nellie (Foster) Shank, Barb was a cashier at Fishers Foods for 31 years. She was a member of VFW Post # 3747 and Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church.
Also preceded in death by her son, Richard, and five siblings. Survived by her husband of 62 years, Raymond Gates; children, Timothy (Jeanette) Gates, Judy Mae Lewis, and Walter (Pamela) Gates; eight grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Karin Himstedt officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call one hour before services from 10-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be made to Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church, 930 S. Nickelplate St. Louisville, OH 44641.

Dear Raymond and all,

Uncle Raymond and family I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Barb's passing. I have many fond memories of Aunt Barb. I grew up with weekly visits from her coming to get her hair done in mom's shop. What a character she was :) What a very caring individual she was also. Love you Aunt Barb.
