Barbara Jowett Obituary
Peacefully after a lengthy illness with family by her side at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Wednesday, July 18th, 2012 at 82 years of age. Loving wife of Bill for 60 years. Beloved mother of Philip and his wife Sherrie. Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by grandchildren Stacey (Dan), Corey and honourary daughter Kristen Watt. Dear sister of Edith May, William, Mary, Stanley, Eric and their families, and predeceased by Margaret. Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Friday, July 20th from 1:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the Leukemia Research Foundation would be appreciated.

Mom, it broke my heart to lose you but you didn't go alone as a part of me went with you. You are a fantastic person who stood by me through everything, always there for me now you're not, you are missed more than you will ever realize. Thanks for being that special mom. I wish to express my gratitude and thanks to my family and extended family for their support on our recent bereavement, my thanks go out to friends and wonderful neighbours and all who extended condolences, your thoughts and prayers are grately appreciated, Barb will be sorely missed.

MY PARENTS BILL AND DOLLY MEDINA ASKED BARB TO BE MY BABYSITTER BACK IN 1970, SO I KNOW YOU SHE WAS A WONDERFUL WOMAN! IT SHOWS AS WE STAYED IN TOUCH AFTER ALL OF THESE YEARS, WHEN WE WOULD GO BACK "HOME" ON VISITS TO CANADA.

Bill, Philip and family,
We were blessed to have Auntie Barb in our family, Barb and Bill were the inspiration for our move to this wonderful country. She will be sadly missed but always remembered. We send our love to you all at this difficult time, but hope you can all pull from the strength of one another and remember all the wonderful things that Auntie Barb brought to this world.

Barb was a wonderful person and it was a lucky day for us when she agreed to be our babysitter in the early 70's. She eventually became Kristen's other mom. I am so sorry we have to say goodbye too soon but take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering. Cherish each memory and know that she will always be watching over you each and every day.Love Wendy
