Barbara Lee Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 17, 2025.
Barbara (Bobbie) Hohlt Lee, of San Rafael, California, passed away after a short illness on March 6, 2025 at the age of 95. She was born on September 15, 1929, in Vallejo, California, to John and Barbara Hohlt. A teacher by profession, she was an avid swimmer and traveler and a devoted Catholic, with a passion for life and learning. Bobbie graduated from Dominican University in 1951 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She taught in the San Francisco and Mill Valley school districts before getting married in 1953 and settling in Marinwood to raise her five children. When they had grown, she returned to teaching until her retirement, which she filled in later years with her lifelong dream of traveling the world. She made numerous visits to Israel and walked large sections of the Camino de Santiago in Spain, with a close group of much-loved traveling companions. She is proceeded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Robert E. Lee, and is survived by her children David, Jackie, Nancy (David) Toole, Jennifer, Chris, and grandchildren Gabriel, Ben, and Finn Toole.

Services will be held at St. Isabella's Church in Terra Linda on March 20 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Isabella's Church of San Rafael, CA.

Bobbie was my godmother and one of my mom's best friends forever. She always sent a birthday card to me for so many, many years. May the lovely lady rest in peace. Joe Arbios
