Dear Mike and Alison I am saddened and surprised by this news. I am sorry that we lost touch over the miles and years but often have had wonderful memories of our times together float up during the years from our lives in the San Francisco Bay area before our children were born. Trips to the beach to watch for whales, Euell Gibbons hike to pick blackberries and catch crawdads and miners lettuce for a shared meal (where she slipped gracefully into the reservoir off a steep bank as we laughed), a trip to Yosemite when Alison and Jesse were toddlers, meals on Clipper Street, New Years gourmet meal cooked together at their home in the Marina, discussions on nursing, and an unforgettable hike with heavy backpacks filled with frozen spagetti sauce, french bread, salad fixings and peppermint schnapps to cook over a campfire and Some-mores of course. She was a wonderful, adventurous and talented friend who lives in a warm and cozy corner of our memories. Our love to Mike and Alison. Bill and Roni

Barbara was a beautiful person. She welcomed me to the family when I met her in 1995 in SanFrancisco. The Lohf’s were kind to take us out to dinner. We will always remember their hospitality and the family times we have spent with them since. She will be missed.
