Barbara Ann Simpson

Barbara Ann Hampton Simpson, age 65 of Charleston Trail, passed away Tuesday. December 5, 2017 at her residence. She was born February 21, 1952 in Gaston County to the late Calvin Marshall and Vivian Lee Sutton Hampton. Barbara was formerly employed with Mohican Mills and was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses of Lincolnton. Barbara was a talented seamstress and an avid reader. Her greatest love was her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Abernathy; and brothers, Roger and Phillip Hampton. Survivors include her children, Robert Elmore and wife, Tammy of Crouse, Christina Mason and husband, Joseph of Vale, and Jennifer Piedlow and husband, Paul of Cherryville; eight grandchildren, Joshua Elmore of Lincolnton, Brittany Richards of Florida, Jessie Lankford of Lincolnton, Ashley Cristea of Virginia, Dillon Mason of Vale, William Piedlow of Cherryville, Lucas Piedlow of Cherryville, and Julia Piedlow of Cherryville; one great grandson, Jaxson Elmore; sister, Eunice Morgan of Marion; and brothers, Calvin Hampton of Florida, Timothy Hampton of Shelby, Wetzil Hampton of Marion, and Nathan Hampton of Marion. In accordance to Barbara's wishes, all services will be private.
