We all loved and adored Mrs. Steinkamp. She was my kindergarten teacher at Walnut Grove, West Mifflin, Pa. 1971. God bless and keep her.

Dear Jim and Karen, Barb was such a professional and personal role model to me. I can still see her leading the kindergarten classes in Walnut Grove. She was the quiet pied piper. She left a terrific legacy to the educational world.

Jim and Karen my deepest heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. I just heard and I am so sorry I missed her service. I knew Barb for more than 20 years through having her nails done every week. She continued to be one of my clients when I opened my day spa back in the 90's. She came every week and we became friends. She enjoyed staying longer to talk with many of the other customers. I have fond memories of her. I loved hearing about her life with you Jim, her teaching career, the cruises and she always spoke so highly of you Karen and loved being with you. I kept in touch with her over the years after I closed and missed seeing her every week. She was a soft spoken, classy, caring and wonderful person that I am glad to have known in my life. I hope your memories bring you some comfort. I know she will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Your mother was my kindergarten teacher at Walnut grove in 1959. I remember her as the epitome of 1950's class.
