Been thinking about you so much lately. I probably spent more time 1 on 1 with Shu than anyone in history and still can't believe you are gone. I miss you so much. Rest In Peace you were like a Father to me and sometimes I was like a Father to you. I remember when you put the second coach in your office so that I could take a nap. LOL that was funny. Miss you so much.

I am so sorry to find out of the passing of Barry. My prayers go out to his family. To those who didn't know Barry he appeared to be a man with a hard exterior and a soft kind inside. He truly changed his image with the birth of his two daughter and beamed whenever he spoke of them. He taught me alot about the shoe business and was a man of great character . Barry had a huge heart! God Bless your family and watch over them.

Dear Shuman Family, Barry was a friend, a mentor, a great salesman, a wonderful, humerous and kind man. He will be greatly missed in the shoe industry. He helped me get off the ground in my own 28 year career in the world of shoes. Unfortunately I never had the pleasure to play a round of golf with him, but we always compared notes. I hope one day to play a round with him in heaven because I know thats where he is. Miss you Shu! Steve and Mary Cederberg. Rocky Mount, NC

I would like to send my condolences to Mrs. Shuman, Linda and the entire family. Barry's infectious smile will be missed by all of us that knew him.
I met Barry in December of 1977 when his generosity helped our company in its infancy. He's been my friend for many years.
Michelle and Jennifer your father loved you more than any of my words could say.
Since you two were born, you have been his whole life. Every time i went to his office he would proudly take out most recent pictures he had of you.
Your vacations together with Grandma kept him elated for weeks.
He had a heart of gold and quietly helped many people without taking credit for it.
You should always be very proud to be his daughters.
He will be missed by many many people.
Barry "Rest in Peace"

Dear Trudy, and Linda and Bill and the rest of the family, too:

We just got the tragic news from Bill,

Would that we could say something smart or comforting. Or that we could get Barry back to you for just one more hug. But, as you can well imagine, we tried to do it with our Richie -- and it didn't work.

Why do bad things always happen to good people?

Let's talk when you return to Florida. It may help all of us.

In any event, rest assured that Barry is already up there with Mike -- and, if we know Mike, he has already arranged with the starter for the best starting times.

Be well -- love
