I am so sorry to hear the passing of Barry. Barry and Mavis were my neighbours at the Lamplighter until I sold several years ago but we always stayed in touch. It doesn't seem that long ago that I saw him at Safeway which was last Dec. He told me about Mavis and what was happening. I will never forget his smile and stories. Heaven gained a wonderful soul.Lovely couple. My love to Mavis, and my thoughts with your family.

We have only just learned of Barry's passing. We lived in the same complex, almost door to door. We thought the world of this gentleman. He was so kind and gracious.. had so many memorable conversations with both Mavis and Barry.

I loved Uncle Barry and will miss him. Some of my earliest memories are of the Standfield clan at Piers Island, playing guitars and signing as i fell asleep in my little bunk. Uncle Barry was always so kind, loving and patient with me and my brother, David, such as when he taught us how to carve using cottonwood driftwood. Love to Aunt Mavis, Drew, Jane, Jeff, David and your families.

Have many fond memories of having great chats with Barry at the many Standfield dinners and parties. Barry always had a warm smile, was incredibly kind and forever the gentleman. Honoured to have known you. Sincere condolences to the family, Sandra Miles

An awesome Uncle with a great sense of humor that always made me laugh. I raise a glass of Rum to you, Sir. You will not be forgotten.

Ah Barry, you did well. I love your family you made. There were times when I really believed I was part of the gang. A few memories come immediately to mind, Mavis bandaging me up or taking me to emergency. You and your Chum, Plucking feathers with the family. Great memories all because of your wonderful family. I thank you sir.

No one could ask for a better father-in law. He was truly a gentleman.
