Beatrice (Bea) Patterson passed away at home peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 23, 2025. Bea was the daughter of Grace and Ivan Foss, of Parkman, Maine.She graduated from Piscataquis Community High School, class of 1956. After graduation.Skip and his wife, Beatrice (Foss) Patterson, were married at the Parkman Baptist Church on June 30, 1957. They lived in Parkman for 10 years, then spent more than 50 years living in and serving the community of Dexter. She retired from Dexter Shoe after 32 years. Bea was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Dexter. She worked alongside Skip in the young youth group programs. Bea also taught Sunday School for many years. Bea enjoyed her retirement with Skip, and they took many trips together, including Florida, Texas, Niagara Falls, and North Africa. She enjoyed spending time cooking and baking coffee bars and whoopie pies with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She is survived by her boys, Jeffery, of Dexter, Maine, Jerry and wife, Lynda, of Orland, Maine, and James and wife, Elda, of San Antonio, Texas, a sister, Marilou Redman of Dover-Foxcroft; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and special friends, Lillian Smith and Debbie Russell Courtney, niece. She was predeceased by her husband skip, her parents, Grace and Ivan Foss; brothers, Charles, Frankie, Galand, Phillip and sister Marion, .Services for Bea will be held July 2025, at 1 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church in Dexter, ME. Following the services, there will be a reception at New Hope Baptist Church. There will be a graveside service at Parkman Cemetery after. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in his name to the New Hope Baptist Church Youth Ministries, 130 Spring St., Dexter, ME 04930.The family invites you to join them for refreshments and the sharing of memories immediately following.
