Bela I. Csikesz

Mr. Bela I. Csikesz of Westford, MA died Saturday morning, November 5, 2011 at Massachusetts General Hospital following a spirited 9-month battle with brain cancer. He was happily married to Mrs. Laura Carrick with whom he celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary on September 1, 2011. Born in Bridgeport, CT on January 24, 1953, the son of Bela E. Csikesz and the late Margo (Toth) Csikesz. He was a graduate of Woodside Priory High School with the class of 1971. He earned a B.S. in Information Sciences from the University of California Santa Cruz and a B.S. in Linguistics from the University of California Berkeley. Most recently employed as a Software Engineer with Martin Dawes Analytics of Boston, he previously worked for EMC Corporation of Hopkinton, MA, Comverse, Inc. of Wakefield, MA, and Wang Laboratories of Lowell, MA. Mr. Csikesz was a member of the board of directors of Westford Youth Soccer, coached for 16 years, and played soccer for 35 years. A cycling enthusiast, he participated in the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure New England every summer. He was an avid reader who spoke Hungarian and was proud of his Hungarian heritage. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Nicholas G. and Courtney (Reilly) Csikesz of Lincoln, RI; daughter and son-in-law Julia C. and Timothy Welch of Medford, MA; two brothers, Emery Csikesz and his wife Habiba Ali of Garden Grove, CA, Attila and his wife Rebecca Csikesz of Fremont, CA; brother-in-law Paul Carrick of Los Gatos, CA and sister-in-law Sandra Catlin of Las Vegas, NV. He was the brother of the late Ildiko Csikesz of Seaside, CA who died in 1992. A Funeral Service was held for family and friends at First Parish Church United in Westford.
