My deepest condolences to the Podurgiel family. Myself and Ben went to grade and High school together. Ben was always my hero, as he made school seem effortless. My fondest moments where when we both discovered Guitar. Ben was such a natural, as soon as he picked up that instrument! Kids would confuse us, and called us brothers, so we use to call each other, "hey brother" Ben was always such a beautiful man, in so many ways! I remember Ben's parents, such wonderful, wonderful individuals. When I went into the Army, we lost contact, but when I would come home for leave, I made it a point to find Ben. It grieves my spirit to no end hearing of the aweful tragedies that Ben experienced as a Dad/Husband. Losing my son at 16, and losing 2 siblings, I could only identify with this deep sorrowing pain superficially. I'm so sorry you had to experience those tragedies. It will be a spiritual challenge to not have you with us, my brother. My deepest wishes and prayers are the loved ones left behind to be able to somehow get through this grieving process, through a loving, caring and forgiving God. Every time I pick up a Guitar, I will think of the crazy, emotional "Rock Star" faces that came naturally for you, being of such great talent and intelligence, your gifts to us will never be forgotten. My 95 y.o. Mom had dreams the days before your passing! And when I told her, she was very distraught. I just had to attribute her dreams and emotional distress to some spiritual connection, a connection I hope binds all of us together in this extreme time of losing a very, very special man. Love u Ben

Ben's dad was my dentist in Uncasville, CT when I was a kid. Ben was in my kindergarten class at Uncasville Elementary School. I graduated Saint Bernard in 1980 with Ben. My fondest memories of him were when we were just little children, and I did like to visit the dentist as well. So sad to hear of this news. We never know in life how things will turn out. I lost my daughter at 28 years old and I will never be the same. I am taking care of her children now. Our lives will never be the same. All of you are in my prayers. Sincerely, Terri (Chambers)Loring

Jim and I extend to you, Tegan and Ben, our deep sympathy on the loss of your father, Ben III, our nephew. We also send condolences to Ben and Suzanne on the death of their son. We offer our prayers for Ben's soul on its flight to heaven where he can be with loved ones there. We are also praying for strength and comfort for you and his family in your grief.
We remember Ben III as having a good and generous heart. After the Podurgiel grandchildren returned from that famous cousins trip to iron curtain Poland, our daughter Rebecca told us how kind Ben (at age 19 or so) had been to her at age 12. She said that Ben had looked out for her throughout that trip and on the way home, he surprised her with a costumed doll that she had admired in a tourist shop but could not afford while shopping there. She still brings the doll out to decorate her table on every Easter Sunday.
We are sorry that we cannot attend Ben's funeral Mass, but we will be with you all in spirit and prayers. Lots of love, Jim Brown and Cioci Patty (Podurgiel) Brown
