Member of The Pembroke Masonic Lodge 128 AF & AM Peacefully at the Pembroke Regional Hospital, Wednesday morning April 1, 2015 in his 81st year, surrounded by his loving family. Bernie Gilchrist, dearly loved husband of 51 years to Sandra (nee Liebeck) Cherished father of Robert (Roy Woods), Angela (Warren Zdyrko), Kirk (Jennifer Smart), Quentin (Jennifer Cotnam). Adored poppa of Wesley and Colby Zdyrko, and Madelyn and Lily Gilchrist. Predeceased by infant daughter Brenda. Dear brother of June, James (Mary), Ivan (Jolene), Mervin (Shirley), Carl (Jean) and Ray (Nadia) Predeceased by sisters Minerva, Vera, Elizabeth, Beatrice and brothers John, Russell, Cecil, Duncan, Gerald, Ernest, Donald, Roy, Kenneth, Albert. Son of the late Andrew Gilchrist and Mary Obrey.Survived by many nieces, and nephews. Friends are invited to share their memories of Bernie with his family on Easter Sunday, April 5 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME and CHAPEL LTD., 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke. ( Members of the Pembroke Masonic Lodge 128 will meet at the Funeral Home Sunday, at 7:30 p.m.) Funeral Service to follow on Easter Monday, April 6 at 11 a.m. in Calvin United Church, 276 Church Street. Spring Interment in Zion Evangelical United Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Lung Association or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
