Bernardo DUBROVSKY Obituary
November 28, 1938 – October 7, 2016
Died unexpectedly at the MUHC Glen Site while recovering from surgery. Born in Argentina, he obtained his MD at the University of Buenos Aires in 1962. He came to McGill University in 1967 and joined the Department of Psychiatry in 1968. Passionate scientist, thinker, teacher, music lover, social critic, he focused his research on the brain, evolution and psychiatry. He shared generously his knowledge and experience with his students and cared for his patients with deep understanding and empathy. He is survived by his wife Diana, his son Alex, his brother Victor, his brother-in- law Alberto, and extended family. A reception will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the RVC West Lounge, 3425 University Street, Montreal, QC, H3A 2A8. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name to Médecins Sans Frontières would be appreciated.

Mario and I have not yet recovered from the shock of learning the sad and totally unexpected news. Bernardo, Diana and Alex Dubrovsky have been our best and most supportive friends in Montreal for about fifty years. We will miss him terribly. Our love goes to Diana and Alex.

I am so very sad to hear he is gone. I worked with him for a short while as his secretary, and I learnt a lot from him. He always had interesting views and ideas to share and was always curious to know and discuss all sorts of different topics. A very extraordinary and respectable gentleman, a great person at heart. He will be missed.May his soul rest in peace. Amen
