Bertha Pou Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 8, 2025.
Haslet - Bertha Enriquez Pou, aged 92, formerly of Empalme, Sonora, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2024.

Bertha lived a life defined by her keen observance, caring nature, and wonderful sense of humor. She will be remembered as a generous and thoughtful individual who always had a prayer ready for anyone in need. Her sharp wit and compassionate demeanor were cherished by all who knew her. A deeply spiritual person, Bertha's life was enriched by prayer, reflecting her introspective and thoughtful soul.

Beyond her devotion to prayer, Bertha found joy in gardening. She spent countless hours tending to her plants and flowers, transforming her home into a haven of beauty. One of her greatest pleasures was sharing her flowers with the local church during holidays. Seeing them displayed on the altar brought her immense happiness and fulfillment.

Bertha is survived by her loving family: three children, Maria (Ricardo), Felipe (Dena), and Mary Ellen (Marty); eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers; a sister; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roberto A. Pou, as well as two brothers and four sisters.

Bertha's life and legacy will continue to be celebrated through the stories shared by family and friends. Her memory will inspire generosity, laughter, and love in the lives of those she touched. May her spirit bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.

I miss you, nana. I live in a home of memories, which is a good thing. I see it as a testament on how much time we spent together. I've been working in the yard a bit. Not too much because it is getting hot. I threw away some of the dried plants. I remember how much you hated to seeing dried plants left in the yard. It's been a pretty dry season so I am making sure to water them. I remember me, you, and Digby planting flowers 10 years ago. Feels like yesterday. I love and miss you so much. ~Saso P.S. I'm on TV right now because of my coffee. You'd be so proud.

The depth of my Tia Bertha´s love & kindness was a treasure , a treasure I know will be yearning to feel again , but i hope i can still feel it . In the memories of the times we once spent together , in the countless prayers that with such devotion she had for me and for every person she once met and loved ; And in the retelling of experiences in her life from childhood to adulthood , waiting to be shared with so much joy and laughter whenever i got to see her.

I hope you are at peace now Tia , and that those who loved you and cared deeply for you may find comfort reminiscing the moments of happiness you brought to them , like i will.

I Love you - Paola

To the Pou family, please know I adored your Mum. She always made me smile, she gave great hugs, and I remember all the times spent in her kitchen as a child laughing, eating, and her always smiling. My greatest joy was when her brothers and sisters would join her and there was always so much laughter and fun with all of them. Mary, Felipe, and Mary Ellen, you were all amazing children, and her legacy is all of you as well as her beautiful grandchildren. Though Mrs. Pou will be missed, I am glad she got to live such a long life in the company of such great children.

I miss you so much, nana. But I am grateful for all the memories I have with you. I had no idea we would spend so much time together after I moved back from Korea. I have memorized many recipes by heart because of you. I love you so much. Please give Digby a big hug for me. Love you!!! ~Sasito
