Betty Thomas Childress, age 87, of Knoxville passed away Tuesday evening, April 12, 2016 at her home. Betty was a member of Concord United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Thomas. Betty is survived by her sons, John and Mike Childress; grandchildren, Austin, Riley, Brittany and Pierce Childress; all of Knoxville; sister-in-law Bobbie Thomas; and niece Lisa Thomas.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel. Interment will be 10:00 am on Monday at Highland Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Young Williams Animal Center www.young-williams.org Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel, 11915 Kingston Pike is serving the Childress family. www.clickfh.com

Betty & John always were kind & looked after my Mom & I... We really appreciated them and hate we had lost touch over the years. So sorry for your loss.

How well I remember the Childress family and she was such a dear friend of my sister in law, Nelle Strange. The families were intertwined from early on...prayers for the family and those special friends.
