Betty Cook Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 13, 2025.
Betty Jo Cook, aged 72, of Greensboro, NC, passed away on March 30, 2020. Born on September 26, 1948, Betty was known for her unwavering loyalty, love, and generosity. Throughout her life, she embodied the spirit of kindness, never hesitating to put the needs of others before her own, particularly when it came to her family.

Betty graduated from Page High School in 1966 and devoted much of her career to working as an office manager at a local law firm, where she retired after over two decades of dedicated service. Her work ethic and commitment to her role were evident to all who worked alongside her.

A deeply spiritual person, Betty was a long-standing member of the Northside Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she cherished the community and fellowship it provided.

Outside of work and church, Betty had a passion for gardening, which was only rivaled by her love for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed scrapbooking, which allowed her to preserve precious family memories, and was an active member of the Soroptimist Club, where she contributed to various community service projects.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Heather Anderson (Carson), her son, Heath Cook (Danielle), her grandchildren, Will and Kate Anderson, and Chloe Cook, and her sister, Janis Hunter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommie B. and Mary Janet Royal, her brother, Thomas Royal, and her sister, Carolyn Sweeney.

A memorial service to celebrate Betty's life will be held at 2:00pm on July 18, 2025, at Northside Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC. Her life was a testament to the power of caring and community, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
