ETHERIDGE, Betty Fillmore Emery - born to O.L. and Hazel Fillmore on the 29th of June 1932 in Harriman, TN passed away at the age of 80 in Hendersonville, TN on the 23rd of January 2013. Preceded in death by mother, father, three brothers, and husband, Ray. Survived by son, Dr. Steve (Jennifer) Emery and his father, Ralph; granddaughters, Shannon (Dr. Scott) Guthrie, Stacey (Chet) Roberts; and grandson, Nathan (Kat) Emery; great-grandchildren, Emma, Grace and Jack Guthrie, Hudson Roberts, and Olive Emery; and will be missed by feline buddy, Gidget. Graduated from East High School and employed by Kuhn Bros, T.E.M.C.O., and retired from Western Electric Co. after 25 years of service. She was a charter member of Valley View Baptist Church and Polio Heroes of Middle TN. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Monday, the 28th of January 2013 at one o'clock in the afternoon officiated by Bro. Ernest Standerfer. Visitation with the family will take place at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home on Sunday, the 27th of January from one o'clock until five o'clock in the afternoon, and again beginning Monday morning up until the time of service. Entombment to follow at Woodlawn's Cross Mausoleum. Honorary Pallbearers include Willine Gillespie, Ann Link, Mark Sisco and Sue Blackwell. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be directed to Easter Seals (Polio Heroes of Middle TN) or Nashville Humane Association. Deepest sympathy to Aunt Betty's family and loved ones. May God comfort you. I feel very blessed to have known Aunt Betty and am thankful for her life. Her strength, fortitude and grace will be remembered.
