IFFORD Betty Lee Ifford, age 64, died on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas of a heart attack. She was a native New Orleanian, displaced by Hurricane Katrina. She was a graduate of St. Joan of Arch Catholic School and Booker T. Washington High School. She retired from Tulane University Hospital as a private duty nurse. She was active in her community and notorious for her advice. Betty is survived by four adoring sisters: Lucille Nero of Los Angeles, California, Ella Louise and Willie Faye Ifford and Melanie Ifford Cleveland Johnson; beloved brothers: Robert Ifford, Sr. and Charles Coleman; a great-niece she reared, Miranda Louise Ifford of Dallas, TX; devoted nieces and nephews: Nikki, Payton, Missy, Calvin, Meagan, Jeremiah, Walter II, Cheryl, Dawn, Jonahtan, Cyrus and Robert Jr.; one dedicated cousin, George Eggins; and a devoted friend, Dorothy Bates. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Louise Ifford; two brothers: Jake Jr. and Walter; and one special nephew, Mark Copeland. Relatives and friends; priests and parishioners of Mater Dolores Catholic Church, Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel B.C., Bishop Paul Morton and St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, Dr. Frank Lewis are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 1226 S. Carrollton Ave. at 12:00 noon. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment Providence Memorial Park, 8100 Airline Hwy., Metairie, LA.
