BELLVILLE: Betty L. Mellott passed away peacefully Friday, December 21, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 81.

She was born November 5, 1937 in Bellville, Ohio the daughter of Dwight & Lucille (Allen) Swank. She graduated from Butler High School with the class of 1955. She married the love of her life, Delbert Mellott, on June 23, 1956. They raised five children together.

Betty was involved with the Butler Historical Society, the North Liberty Garden Club and was a long-time member of Clear Fork Alliance Church. She especially enjoyed creating and sharing meals with her family and friends, observing nature and making many beautiful handmade crafts.

Surviving Betty is her husband Delbert Mellott; her children Jeffrey (Beth) Mellott, Terri Ramey, Jody (Benjamin) Haserodt, Lori (John) Workman, and Jerry Mellott; and 12 dear grandchildren: Jessica (Damien)Long, Abigail Ramey, Andrew Ramey, Sarah (Bryan) Ringsted, Megan (Drew) Haserodt, Rose Haserodt, Mac Workman, Gus Workman, Joey Workman, Ben Mellott, Lauren Mellott and Grace Mellott.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Dwight and Lucille Swank and a daughter-in-law, Roseann Mellott.

The Mellott family will receive friends Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Clear Fork Alliance Church, 1008 State Route 97, Bellville, OH. Pastors Mike Stine and Ken Kinley will speak with burial to follow at Bellville Cemetery.

Her strong quiet presence will be missed and every beautiful memory cherished. We are thankful for all that she has meant to our family, friends and community.

Contributions in Betty's memory to The American Cancer Society or The Kobacker House may be made at the Snyder Funeral Home.
