Bremerton - Betty Peterson, 96, died in her Bremerton home on January 16, 2024, surrounded by her children.

Betty was born March 4,1927, in Toledo, Ohio. She graduated from high school in Alton, Illinois, and earned her RN certificate from Lutheran Nursing School, St. Louis. Betty met Ed while serving as a Navy nurse at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. They married in 1952 and were blessed with 4 children: Karen, Ted, Linda, and Dave. Betty and her family were active members at Memorial Lutheran Church. Betty resumed her nursing career in 1970 at Horton and, later, Resthaven nursing homes.

Ed died in 2006. Betty's parents, two brothers, and grandson Eddie also preceded her in death. She's survived by her children and their spouses, 9 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

Betty's memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Bremerton. Donations: Lutheran Community Services or michaeljfox.org.
