Betty Lee Whitten ABINGDON, Va. Betty Lee Whitten, 64, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2010, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Washington County, Va., and was a daughter of the late Noah and Sally Whitten. She leaves to mourn, four sisters. Special sister, Nancy Whitten of Abingdon, Mary "Sid" Cato of Damascus, Va., Kathy Whitten of Abingdon and Donna Howell of Goldsboro, N.C.; a special niece and husband, Judy and Blake Young; a special nephew, Terry and Regina Whitten; three special nephews, Shannon Young, Jason Young, and Rodney Whitten; and two special nieces, Hilda Foster and Nancy Y. Whitten. Betty also leaves behind several other nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010, in Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon with Mike Sage officiating. Pallbearers will be Rodney Whitten, Dewayne Anderson, Josh Greenwood, Ronald Groves Jr., Glenn Foster Jr. and Donald Foster Sr. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Louise, Vicki and Naomi and the staff of Hospice of Southwest Virginia and Home Health Care for all their kindness and exceptional care.
