Beulah Burke Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 3, 2012.
Bridgewater Beulah P. Burke 87, died January 3, 2012. Beuhla was born and raised in Plainfield, NJ, formerly of Manahawkin and Greenbrook before moving to Bridgewater in 2004. She was employed as a controller for Community Distributors in Branchburg for over 20 years. She was a communicant of Lady of Mount Virgin Roman Catholic Church in Middlesex. During World War II Beulah nee Caulfield won a war bond beauty queen award. She also began her career in 1965 as a part time clerk and helped exponentially grow Community Distributers, quickly becoming the controller and a key executive on its leadership team. A loving mother, grandmother and sister she loved to spend time with her family. Although she had an excellent sense of humor, her jokes were rarely funny drawing well deserved boos from her listeners. Getting a laugh at her own expense was her way to make others feel more comfortable and a demonstration of her humility. All who were fortunate enough to know her will miss her kind heart and her deep faith in God. She is predeceased by her husband James who died in 2002 and a brother Cormick Caulfield who passed in 2011. Surviving are her children, Janet Tumolo and her husband Joseph, James and his wife Suzanne, Jacqueline Goldberg and her husband Gary, Jeffrey and his wife Tracy and sisters Eileen Dellaventura and Cathryn Sicoli and 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Prayers will be said 11:30 am Friday at the Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville followed by a 12:30pm mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville. Interment will follow at New Cemetery, Somerville. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9pm Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to COPD Foundation, R. H. Scarborough Fund, 2937 SW 27th Avenue, Suite 302, Miami, FL 33133. To send condolences to the family, visit www.brucecvanarsdalefuneralhome.com.
